The M7450 has a 3,000 mAh battery that TP-Link claims are good for as long as 15 hours of usage, and it has dual-band Wi-Fi. On the 5GHz side, alongside 802.11 ac support, you can connect devices at as high as 867Mbps (this will rely on how many antennas your other devices have), guaranteeing you won’t be losing out on the maximum speed potential due to the Wi-Fi element becoming the weak link.

M7450 has a microSD card slot inside (in addition to the micro SIM tray, which conveniently comes with an adapter for nano SIMs in the box) too, thus you can run the hotspot as a mini server. It’s a feature you’ll probably never use, but it’s there if you choose to store files to share between users on the same network.

TP-link M7450 has a WiFi access point operating in the 802.11 a/ b/g/n/ ac standards. So, it can manage up to 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. The manufacturer claims coverage of 20 dB for the 2.4 GHz band and 23 dB for 5 GHz. As an access point, it allows you to connect as many as 32 devices, offering you to use of 5 GHz bands. However, we did not have the possibility to check if the device really could connect with the number of devices connected to it. We had 6 devices (3 laptops, a smartwatch, 2 telephones) and all were connected without a problem together.

TP-link M7450 can work on a 3000 mAh battery for 15 hours at full load. But, in real use, it depends upon the network activity. What TP-Link gives is the result of a constant maximum load. And no person will keep it working for 15 hours with no stop. In “normal” use, we tested it in writing texts in WordPress, browsing favorite websites, or uploading photos, the result is clearly good. Thus, we used the device for three days, leaving it in standby mode for the night. It was only the third day of use that killed the battery in a small router. On the first day, he worked about 7 hours, the second about 11 hours, and the third before he quit his last electric breath, about 3.5 hours. So, if you would take a business trip with TP-link M7450, you can actually forget the charger.
