The interchangeable antenna horn supports a tighter beamwidth which allows the signal to be focused in a specific direction resulting in a stronger, more reliable signal. The modular design of the PrismStation 5AC makes for easy deployment in a variety of locations, while co-location performance ensures clients receive optimal signal strength through the use of dedicated horn antenna sectors. Additionally, the PrismStation 5AC radio is great for co-location deployments as it supports an enhanced front-to-back ratio and low side lobe radiation which greatly reduces interference thus improving overall network performance.

The PrismStation 5AC supports Ubiquiti Networks airOS8 software that allows admins to take advantage of a long list of powerful network management tools including airMAX ac Protocol Support, Long-Range Point-to-Point Link Mode, Selectable Channel Width, Transmit Power Control, enhanced WPA2 Security, and more. airMAX ac technology boosts the advantages of their proprietary TDMA protocol. Ubiquiti’s airMAX engine with custom IC dramatically improves TDMA latency and network scalability. Theoretically APs operate on different channels; however, because of the wider channel bandwidths, there can be overlap in spectrum usage. airPrism technology removes up to an additional 30+ dB of adjacent channel interference through the active filtering design, so an airMAX ac AP with airPrism technology can provide significantly greater performance than a typical AP.
