Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 102AZ App-Enabled Refractor Telescope

The Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 102AZ is an app-enabled refractor telescope designed to help users find and observe objects in the night sky. Its 102 mm aperture and fully XLT-coated glass optics support views of the Moon, planets, star clusters and other celestial objects.

The manual alt-azimuth mount uses dual-axis slow-motion controls. Pair a compatible smartphone with the StarSense dock and app to help identify visible targets and follow on-screen directions. The telescope itself does not have motorised tracking.

Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 102AZ Telescope Features

102 mm Refractor Optics

The 102 mm aperture and 660 mm focal length provide a versatile setup for observing the Moon, planets and brighter deep-sky objects.

Fully XLT-Coated Glass Optics

Celestron’s XLT optical coatings are designed to improve light transmission through the telescope’s optical system.

StarSense Smartphone Navigation

The StarSense Explorer app analyses star patterns using a compatible smartphone and guides users towards selected visible objects.

Manual Alt-Azimuth Mount

The mount moves manually up, down and side to side. Dual-axis slow-motion controls help make small adjustments when positioning the telescope.

Two Included Eyepieces

The 25 mm eyepiece provides 26× magnification, while the 10 mm eyepiece provides 66× magnification.

Erect-Image Diagonal and Finderscope

The 90-degree erect-image diagonal presents an upright image, and the StarPointer red-dot finderscope can help locate targets without the smartphone app.

Full-Height Aluminium Tripod

The included tripod and mount can reach a maximum height of approximately 1,244.6 mm and include an accessory tray.

No External Telescope Power Needed

The telescope operates without an external power supply. The StarSense app runs on a compatible smartphone, which uses its own battery and GPS.
