StarTech.com DP2HDMI2 DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Features in Kenya

DisplayPort to HDMI Video Connectivity

The StarTech.com DP2HDMI2 connects compatible DisplayPort computer outputs to HDMI displays. It provides a practical solution for using an HDMI monitor, television or projector with a computer equipped with a supported DisplayPort connection.

Passive DisplayPort Adapter Design

Features a passive adapter design that relies on a compatible Dual-Mode DisplayPort source to provide HDMI-compatible signals. This design does not perform active video signal conversion and therefore requires DP++ support from the connected source device.

Dual-Mode DisplayPort (DP++) Compatibility

Requires a DisplayPort source supporting Dual-Mode DisplayPort (DP++). A standard DisplayPort connector alone does not guarantee compatibility with this passive adapter, so users should verify DP++ support before purchasing.

DisplayPort 1.2 Interface

Designed for compatible DisplayPort 1.2 source connections. The adapter supports the specified video and audio functions when used with a suitable Dual-Mode DisplayPort output and compatible HDMI display.

Maximum Resolution of 1920 × 1200

Supports video resolutions up to 1920 × 1200 for compatible computer displays. This resolution provides a practical option for office applications, desktop computing, document editing and supported professional display use.

Full HD 1080p Video Support

Supports Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 for compatible HDMI monitors, televisions and projectors. This makes the adapter suitable for presentations, multimedia playback and everyday computer display applications.

DisplayPort Male Input Connector

Features a 20-pin DisplayPort male connector designed to connect directly to a compatible DisplayPort output on a desktop computer, laptop, graphics card or docking station.

HDMI Female Output Connector

Includes a standard 19-pin HDMI female connector for connecting a compatible HDMI display using an appropriate HDMI cable. The HDMI cable is not included in the stated package contents.

Up to 7.1-Channel Digital Audio

Supports up to 7.1-channel digital audio through compatible DisplayPort and HDMI equipment. Actual audio functionality depends on the source device, graphics hardware, connected display and operating system settings.

HDCP 1.4 Content Protection Support

Supports HDCP 1.4 for compatible protected digital content. Playback of protected material depends on the source, display and content provider’s requirements, including any higher HDCP versions that may be necessary.

Approximately 21cm Attached Adapter Cable

Features an attached cable measuring approximately 21cm (8 inches), providing flexibility when connecting the DisplayPort output to an HDMI cable. This compact cable design helps accommodate computer ports in desktop and workstation installations.

Latching DisplayPort Connector

Includes a latching DisplayPort connector designed to help maintain a secure physical connection. Users should release the latch before disconnecting the adapter to avoid damaging the connector or computer port.

Unidirectional DisplayPort to HDMI Operation

Designed specifically for connecting a DisplayPort source to an HDMI display. The adapter does not support reverse HDMI-to-DisplayPort conversion and should not be used for connecting an HDMI computer output to a DisplayPort-only monitor.

Plug-and-Play Installation

Supports plug-and-play operation with compatible devices. Users can connect the DisplayPort end to a supported DP++ output and attach an HDMI cable to the display without installing dedicated adapter software.

No Driver Installation Required

Operates without separate adapter drivers. Display resolution, audio output and other settings are managed by the connected computer’s graphics hardware and operating system.

No External Power Adapter Required

Does not require an external power supply when connected to a compatible DP++ source. This makes the adapter convenient for desktop installations and portable laptop accessories.

Operating System Independent Design

Functions independently of a specific operating system because it uses supported hardware video connections. Compatibility depends primarily on the DisplayPort source, DP++ capability and connected HDMI display.

Desktop Computer Compatibility

Suitable for desktop computers equipped with compatible Dual-Mode DisplayPort outputs. It can be used to connect supported HDMI monitors and televisions for everyday office and home computing.

Laptop and Docking Station Compatibility

Can connect compatible laptops and docking stations with standard DisplayPort outputs that support DP++. Devices with USB-C, Mini DisplayPort or HDMI-only connectors require an appropriate alternative adapter or connection method.

Graphics Card to HDMI Monitor Connection

Supports compatible graphics cards with DP++ outputs, allowing them to connect to HDMI monitors. This is useful when a graphics card provides DisplayPort outputs but the available display uses HDMI.

HDMI Television Connectivity

Allows supported DisplayPort computers to connect to compatible HDMI televisions for presentations, desktop display output and multimedia applications within the adapter’s resolution limits.

HDMI Projector Compatibility

Suitable for connecting compatible DisplayPort computer outputs to HDMI projectors in classrooms, meeting rooms, training centres and business presentation environments.

Compact Black Adapter Design

Features a black exterior and compact attached cable suitable for desktop cable management and portable computer accessories. The exact net weight has not been confirmed for this model and should not be assumed from similar adapters.

3-Year Manufacturer Warranty

Includes a stated 3-year manufacturer warranty, subject to StarTech.com’s applicable warranty conditions, product eligibility and proof-of-purchase requirements.
